I’ve been a fan of Ole Henriksen products (and the man behind the brand) for many, many years. The Danish-born founder seems to have more energy than almost anyone I’ve ever met, and truly radiates joy. His products help me feel happy and joyful, too, since I have *literally* loved everything I’ve tried from his namesake line.
One of the brand’s newest products, which came out in January 2022, is the OLEHENRIKSEN Strength Trainer Peptide Boost Moisturizer ($48). Like the entire line, it’s cruelty-free, paraben-free, and phthalate-free, and has been awarded the “Clean at Sephora” seal.

It’s a moisturizer you can use both day and night, and works on all skin types. It specifically targets dryness, loss of elasticity, and fine lines and wrinkles. After the very first application, my skin felt hydrated and dewy—dare I say, I was glowing—even after walking my dog in 20 degree NYC weather.
My main concern is that as a mom of a toddler, I’m always tired. Not only do I not sleep enough at night, but I’m generally just *exhausted* by the end of the day. I rarely wear makeup anymore since I exclusively work from home, and my skin was really starting to look like “tired mom” skin. It was feeling dry and tight, with a lot of redness. It goes without saying my under eye area looked very hollow and dark as well.
After using this cream for a week, my flaky, dry forehead felt intensely infused with hydration, and my cheeks seemed more plump and bouncy. My skin looked brighter and more vibrant after just a few uses. It has a very light scent (am I getting a hint of citrus?) that is not at all overpowering. It did seem thick when I first dipped my pinky in the jar, but as soon as I started applying the moisturizer to my skin, it completely melted in such a nice way. It’s rich, yet feels luxuriously lightweight.
The standout ingredients are hyaluronic acid, vegan peptides, ceramides, amino acids, and collagen. “This is a well-formulated moisturizer that contains the ideal combination of humectants to hydrate, emollients to support the skin barrier, and occlusives to lock in moisture,” says board-certified NYC-based dermatologist Dr. Hadley King MD. “And there are additional ingredients for added benefits as well, like niacinamide and peptides.”
Dr. King says niacinamide is increasing in popularity because it’s easy to use and effective. It helps to reduce some signs of aging. “Anyone who wants to improve tone and/or texture can use niacinamide,” says Dr. King. Meanwhile, ceramides help protect the skin barrier, which keeps skin moisturized, while peptides help fight signs of aging by stimulating collagen production.
Buzzy ingredient hyaluronic acid helps keep your skin feeling plump (it helps seal in moisture), while mango seed butter (also another nourishing ingredient this moisturizer has) literally blocks water from escaping your skin. And ta da: You get a glowing, bouncy complexion. After a month of use, I definitely noticed a difference in the tone and texture of my skin, as well as the moisture level. Can you tell it’s my all-time go-to this winter?
